Faith-Based Liaison The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Consumer Protection and Victim Services received a rural grant to expand the limited services available to victims of domestic violence in our state. This grant is called REMEDIES-Rural Efforts in Montana to Expand Delivery of Interventions and Extend Services-and is a partnership of the DOJ, Montana Association of Churches, Montana Coalitioin Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and Montana Legal Services. The Faith-Based Liaison collaborates with the Montana Association of Churches to develop goals and objectives for domestic and sexual violence prevention/intervention projects and coordinates their implementation. The Liaison also facilitates dialogue and networking between faith communities and domestic violence advocates/providers to expand referrals and improve responses to victims. The Liaison offers technical assistance and training to faith communities, clergies, and lay leaders regarding best practices and emerging trends in domestic violence. In collaboration with clergy and faith leaders, the Liaison also provides resources and training to providers regarding the significance of faith/spiritual matters in the lives of victims/survivors. Faith Survey This survey is an effort to better understand the resources and needs of faith communities in Montana as they seek to address domestic violence both in their local faith community as well as the larger community. Your comments will be kept confidential and only used to evaluate the resources available and to give you an opportunity to request technical assistance, resources and/or additional training.
