Last year, MCADSV convened two summits to facilitate ongoing collaboration and information exchange:
College Summit: We held a College Summit for SA Programs and student activists from each Montana PSE institution in April 2003 to share information and plan collaborative statewide strategies for rape prevention and direct services for college students. The Summit has been followed by regular meetings.
Batterers' Program Summit: We held the first meeting of Batterers Intervention Providers in September 2003, bringing them together to share information and to learn more about MCADSV's work. This meeting was well-received. We plan to hold similar meetings twice annually, with an additional two conference calls per year. One goal of these meetings is to ensure that Batterers' Intervention Program providers are coordinating their work with the work of DV advocates and the courts to hold batterers accountable and ensure victim safety.
