Children's Task ForceThe Children's Task Force works to ensure the safety and well-being of the children of the families that are devastated by domestic or sexual violence. Anyone who is interested in working with this group is welcome.Current Projects The Children's Task Force has as its key goal, increasing the development of child advocates at each domestic violence program including statewide training. This Task Force is also looking at the development and acquisition of resources to educate young people on domestic and sexual violence using preventative models. The Coalition has specific curriculum materials for all age groups in its lending library. In 2004, the Task Force sponsored an educational audio conference for child advocates working in Montana. The audio conference was on January 21st and focused on working with schools and educational programs. Featured speakers were Kathy Bramer from the Montana Office of Public Instruction and Jessica Randazzo from SAFE in Hamilton. Both speakers gave short presentations and then fielded questions from audio conference participants. The topic and the date of the upcoming audio conferences have yet to be decided. So, check back for more information. Meeting Schedule Aside from the audio conferences, the Children's Task Force meets during MCADSV member meetings and every couple of months, usually via a teleconference. The next scheduled meeting is at the MCADSV meeting in Helena, February 2005. How to Get Involved Again, the Children's Task Force is open to anyone who is interested in the work they are pursuing.
