Women of Color Task ForceThe Women of Color Task Force strives to help members and programs offer services that are culturally competent and to provide support for organizations that serve women of color in Montana. An emphasis is placed on the unique needs of rural, reservation, and underserved populations. Anyone who is interested is welcome to join and participate in the Task Force.Current Projects The Women of Color Task Force sponsors trainings on cultural competency such as Sujata Warrier, a nationally known speaker on cultural competency and program planning, Scared Circle. The task force is identifying curricula and materials that are culturally competent and good to use with Native American youth and adults. Some task force members are prepared to train leaders to work with Native America boys and girls. They created an educational brochure that addresses myths and misconceptions about Native Americans. This brochure can be downloaded from our website. Meeting Schedule The Women of Color Task Force meets during MCADSV member meetings and through conference calls. Please check out the MCADSV homepage for schedule of upcoming meetings. How to Get Involved Again, the Women of Color Task Force is open to anyone.
