In this section, we will demonstrate how you can use your custom-designed content blocks.

When you create a new page like this one, you can choose from a selection of content blocks that are specifically designed for this website. You will have control over the text, images, buttons and background colour. You can add as many as you wish.

Types of content blocks

• Classic Text
  This contains the classic WordPress text editor where you have the freedom to write any text you want including headings, paragraphs, lists, links and media. These instructions are written in a classic WordPress editor, you’re currently looking at it.

• Classic Text With Image
  This is a box with two columns. By default, the left column contains text where you can write your content and the left column contains an image.

• Classic Text With Header
  This box has a header with an image and you can add an unlimited amount of text columns below this header.

• Two Column Text Layout
  This two-column text layout is very similar to the ‘Two Column Layout’. The biggest difference between these two is that this box only allows you to input text and in the ‘Two Column Layout’, one of the columns contains an image. In the following example, the box contains two rows since you can add as many rows as you want. You also have the option to add borders to the top of these columns.

• Two Column Layout
  By default, this layout contains text and a button in the left column and an image in the right column. You have the ability to hide the button and reverse the columns. You also have the ability to add as many rows of this two-column layout as you want.

• Call To Action
  This block is a call-to-action with three columns. In the left column, you can input a title and text. In the middle column you can input an image and in the right column, you have the freedom to input text with the classic WordPress editor and a CTA button.

Create your first piece of content

Follow these steps to start creating your first bit of content:

1. Press the square blue button with the plus (+) located in the top left corner of your editor. The editor you’re currently in is called the ‘Gutenberg Editor’.
2. Select one of the custom blocks under ‘Blocks’ -> ‘Custom Blocks’.
3. Now select the block in the editor if it’s not already selected and fill in all visible fields and adjust the settings to your preference.
4. Once you have filled in all visible fields, you can click anywhere in the whitespace outside of the block you just filled in. This will give you a preview of what it will look like. It won’t be 100% accurate all the time.
5. Now click the blue ‘Publish’ or ‘Update’ button in the top right corner of your screen.
6. You can now view this page on the website by going to the settings sidebar on the right side of your screen under the ‘Page’ tab and you will find the link to this page.
7. Congratulations! You have created your first bit of content 🚀.
